FAQs
Do you take my insurance?
1
I am in network with a few select insurance companies. These include: Aetna, Anthem/BCBS, Children’s Comm Health Plan, Humana, Medicaid, Molina, Quartz, & United Healthcare/UMR
When choosing to utilize your insurance to cover services, it is important to remember that your therapist has to proivde certain information in order to get your services covered. Please feel free to ask any questions about this!
If you choose to self-pay, Stephanie’s out of pocket rate is $150.
How long does therapy take?
2
The duration of therapy is truly so individualized. So much of life is intertwined & we often don’t know the depths of it until we start diving in. Everyone has portective mechanisms that may show up through your healing process as well that will impact ‘growth’ as we learn to work with those protective parts of ourselves.. Treatment planning will continue being assessed during your work with Stephanie together.
It is often recommended that we meet more frequently in the beginning and will enter more of a ‘maintenance’ phase when you are ready.
What actually happens in a therapy session?
3
Therapy is a relationship built on curiosity, trust, and collaboration. Together the experiences that have shaped who you are, including your relationships, emotions, beliefs about yourself, and ways you have learned to cope will be explored.
Rather than focusing only on changing behaviors or symptoms, we will work toward understanding the roots of what you are experiencing. Through this process, you can begin developing a deeper connection with yourself, creating new patterns, and moving toward a life that feels more aligned and authentic.
What is brainspotting?
4
Brainspotting is a trauma-informed therapy approach that helps us gently access and process emotions, memories, and experiences that may feel stuck or difficult to put into words.
The idea behind Brainspotting is that where we look can be connected to how our brain and body hold onto experiences. During a session, we work together to identify a specific point in your visual field (a “brainspot”) that connects with what you are wanting to process. By staying connected to that spot while noticing your thoughts, emotions, and body sensations, your brain can begin to naturally process and heal in a deeper way.
Brainspotting does not require you to relive every detail of a painful experience or talk through everything that happened. Instead, it allows your mind and body to work through experiences at a pace that feels safe and supportive.
Many people find Brainspotting helpful for processing trauma, anxiety, grief, overwhelming emotions, and experiences that continue to impact them even when they feel like they have “moved on.”
How do I know if a therapist is a good fit?
5
A good therapeutic fit is not about finding someone who has all the answers, but finding someone who you feel comfortable being honest and vulnerable with.
You may notice that you feel heard, respected, and accepted for who you are. You should feel that your therapist is curious about your experiences, collaborates with you on your goals, and creates a space where you do not have to pretend that everything is okay.
Feel free to schedule a consult call with Stephanie to answer any questions you may be curious about with her therapeutic process.
