Therapy & Brainspotting for Trauma in Brookfield
A steady space to process what your mind & body have been carrying.
Trauma therapy provides a supportive space to gently process experiences that have felt overwhelming to move through on your own.
Trauma doesn’t only live in memories or thoughts—it can also be held in the body. When an experience feels overwhelming, the nervous system may stay in a protective state long after the event has passed. This can show up as feeling constantly on edge, easily startled, shut down or disconnected, or having a hard time relaxing even in safe situations.
Some people notice trauma in physical ways such as tension, fatigue, headaches, changes in sleep, or a sense of restlessness that is hard to settle. Others may feel numb, detached, or “not fully present,” especially during moments of stress or emotional intensity.
These responses are not signs that something is wrong with you. They are ways your body learned to adapt and protect you. Trauma therapy can help support the nervous system in slowly shifting out of survival states and into a greater sense of safety, connection, and presence over time.
To support this process, we may utilize brainspotting to help instead of traditional talk therapy (which requires your logical mind). Your visual field can access the part of your brain that holds these memories & through finding and holding a ‘brainspot,’ your nervous system is able to release the charges of your trauma and lean into regulation.

With my support, we will find a brainspot that is attached to a memory or feelings. Once found, you will hold that eye position and let your mind and body mindfully process the experience. You may or may not talk through it. You may or may not have body responses as it releases. You may or may not have images surface. Each session is unique and over time it will help reduce the intensity of the overwhelming experiences or feelings.

The length of therapy varies depending on your goals, history, and what feels supportive for you. Life is so layered and they all build upon how you show up in the world today. Some people seek short-term support, while others long-term and this will be an ongoing conversation in our work together.
